All Year 7 and 8 pupils have one reading lesson per week using the Accelerated reader software. You can keep track of student progress by logging on to the following website using your child’s student log in:
Students can also take book quizzes on the following website:
Rewards For Reading
All students in year 7 & 8 will be required to carry a reading book in their bag, for which they will receive Class Charts points. If they are caught reading outside of the class room (brunch, lunch etc) they will receive a special card (Get Caught Reading) to be presented to Mrs Soady who will award a further 10 points.
Also, Mrs Soady will be setting them a reading homework in their library lesson, which requires them to read aloud to an adult for 20mins at least four times per week. Each session should be signed by the adult in student organisers and students should present that to Mrs Soady in their next library lesson to receive 30 points! Remember, this must be signed by parents or carers.
Happy reading everyone.
